Privacy Policy

This page explains what dogood.design collects when you visit it, why, who receives it, and how to get your information deleted. It covers this website only. It does not cover the work we do inside a client's own advertising, analytics, or CRM accounts, which is governed by our agreement with that client.

• The site asks for your contact details only when you choose to use a form or the chat widget. There are no accounts and no logins.
• It records ordinary web analytics on every visit: pages viewed, IP address, browser, and which ad, search, or link brought you here.
• Google Analytics, Google Ads, and Meta tags do that measurement. Your email address is hashed before it is sent to any of them.
• We do not sell your personal information. We do share advertising identifiers with Google and Meta to measure ads, which some state laws call sharing for targeted advertising.
• Email hello@dogood.design and we will tell you what we hold about you or delete it.

1. What you give us

Three things on this site collect information, and all of them are optional:

• The contact form. It asks for your email address. Submitting it emails that address to john@dogood.design, saves a record on our server, creates a contact in our customer relationship manager so we can follow up, and opens a booking calendar.
• Lead magnet forms, such as the venue checklist. These ask for your name and email address so we can send you the file and a short series of follow-up emails.
• The chat widget in the bottom corner of every page. If you start a chat it asks for your name, phone number, and email address, and it accepts a message and file attachments. The conversation is handled by GoHighLevel and creates a contact record there so we can reply.

If you book a call, the booking itself runs on Cal.com. You give Cal.com whatever their form asks for, usually your name, email address, the time you pick, your time zone, and any notes you add. We attach the marketing details described in section 3 to that booking so we can tell which ad or page led to the call.

If you email us, text us, or call us, we keep the message and your contact details.

2. What the site records automatically

• Your IP address and browser user agent.
• Pages viewed, the page or search that referred you, and the approximate location Google Analytics derives from your IP address.
• Specific actions counted as events: opening an FAQ, playing or unmuting a video, clicking a link that leaves the site, clicking an email or phone link, submitting a form, and completing a booking.
• Standard server access logs kept by our host, SiteGround.

3. Marketing attribution

When you arrive from an ad, a post, or a tagged link, the web address usually carries tracking parameters: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, and click identifiers from Google (gclid), Meta (fbclid), and LinkedIn (li_fat_id). The site copies whatever it finds into 2 first-party cookies that last 90 days, one holding your first visit and one holding your most recent.

If you later submit a form or book a call, those values travel with it. That is how a booking made weeks after the click still gets credited to whatever brought you here the first time.

4. Cookies and browser storage

Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, the Meta pixel, and the GoHighLevel chat widget all load from those companies' servers on every page, and the chat widget looks up your approximate location from your IP address when it loads. Our fonts load from Google Fonts. Cal.com loads only after you open the booking calendar. Each of those companies receives your IP address as part of serving the request.

5. Consent

The site uses Google Consent Mode v2, with 2 different defaults:

• In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, analytics storage and all advertising signals are denied by default. We do not currently show a consent banner, so they stay denied and only cookieless, aggregated pings are sent.
• Everywhere else, including the United States, analytics and advertising storage are granted by default, which is what United States opt-out privacy laws permit. Section 8 covers how to opt out.

6. Who receives your information

• Google (Analytics, Ads, Tag Manager, Fonts): page and event data, cookie identifiers, IP address, click identifiers, and a hashed email address when you submit a form.
• Meta (Facebook and Instagram): the same measurement data through the browser pixel, plus a matching event sent from our server that contains a SHA-256 hash of your email address, your IP address, your user agent, and the Meta cookie values. Your raw email address is never sent to Meta.
• Cal.com: the booking record you create.
• GoHighLevel (our customer relationship manager): everything you type into the chat widget, including any file you attach, plus the contact record it creates. It also receives a contact record for every form you submit, containing your email address, your name if you gave one, a tag naming which form it was, and the marketing attribution described in section 3: the utm parameters and the Google, Meta and LinkedIn click identifiers that came with your visit. That is how we know which form you used and what brought you here, so the right follow-up is sent.
• SiteGround: hosting and email delivery for the whole site.

That is the full list. We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not hand your details to unrelated companies. Sharing advertising identifiers with Google and Meta to measure ads and build remarketing audiences does count as sharing for targeted advertising under laws such as California's CPRA, so we are naming it plainly rather than claiming otherwise.

We will also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the security of the site.

7. How long we keep it

• Lead notification emails and the lead record on our server: kept until you ask us to delete them, because they are how we remember a conversation.
• Attribution cookies: 90 days from your visit.
• Google Analytics event data: kept for the retention period set on the property, which is 14 months or less. Aggregate reporting data lasts longer.
• Cal.com and GoHighLevel records: kept under those companies' own retention settings for as long as we use them.

8. Your choices

• Ask us directly. Email hello@dogood.design and we will tell you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. We aim to answer within 30 days. There is no fee and you do not need an account.
• Stop the emails. Every marketing email we send has an unsubscribe link in the footer.
• Block the cookies. Every major browser can block or clear cookies for a single site.
• Opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on Google publishes.
• Turn off ad personalization at My Ad Center for Google and in ad preferences for Meta.
• Global Privacy Control. The site does not currently detect the GPC browser signal. Email us and we will apply the opt-out by hand.

Depending on where you live, including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, other states with their own privacy laws, and the EEA and UK, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or object to the use of your information. We apply everything in this section to anyone who asks, wherever they live, and we will not treat you differently for asking.

9. Children

This site is aimed at business owners. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their information, email us and we will delete it.

10. Security

The whole site is served over HTTPS, and every plain HTTP request is redirected. The lead record file and the access tokens for Meta and GoHighLevel are stored outside the public web directory, so they are never served to a browser. No website can promise perfect security, and we are not claiming to.

11. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we revise the date at the top of the page. Material changes to what we collect or who receives it will be described here rather than made quietly.
